We may not get to see our 2020 favourites take to the stage, but that doesn’t mean we can’t reminisce on our Eurovision favourites. This series is aimed to discover the team’s favourite entries from the 21st century, from 2001 to 2019.
In collaboration with ESCDaily, we will be reviewing some of their 21st Century favourites, while over on their site, you will find their reviews of our favourites!

ANDORRA
Anita Reviews Dennis’ 21st Century Favourite
Marta Roure – Jugarem a estimar-nos | 18th place, 12 points (Semi-Final)
Ok, to be fair to Dennis, there’s not many songs to choose from when it comes to Andorra. But this? When I think about Eurovision in the 2000’s, this is probably the type of song that comes to mind. Questionable outfits, underwhelming choreography and mediocre vocals. All I’m saying is that the 18th place finish was probably justified.
I could see how this could be a guilty pleasure however, and some parts are mildly catchy. This gets some extra points from me for the use of Catalan, which the nation was consistent in through their short time competing at Eurovision. The audience manages to give the performance some extra kick, but the visual performance itself leaves much to be desired. Overall, it’s not my cup of tea.
Joshua Reviews Brandon’s 21st Century Favourite
Gisela – Casanova | 16th place, 22 points (Semi-Final)
This entry really is a ‘by the book’ Eurovision pop song. There’s nothing offensive about it, but there’s also nothing interesting enough that would encourage me to vote for it. Costuming is questionable, as well. It’s okay to be unique with staging, but this effort doesn’t make much sense. ‘Casanova’ isn’t for me, unfortunately.
